SLR Basics

Pat Brown

Capturing the spirit of nature is what Pat Brown hopes to do with her photography. She is an amateur photographer that switched to digital several years ago and currently shoots with a Canon. Originally from Ohio, she has lived in San Luis Obispo County since 1983 and loves exploring the area by foot or kayak. Pat is a docent with the Elfin Forest in Los Osos and gives a butterfly talk there every April. Her photographs have appeared in several Elfin Forest Calendars. She is a member of the San Luis Obispo Camera Club and the PhotoMorroBay Yahoo Group.

By profession, Pat is a registered dietitian and has degrees from Ohio State University and Michigan State University. Pat is now semi-retired from teaching nutrition at Cuesta College. She enjoys teaching and likes to provide numerous examples to demonstrate concepts, a practice that she will continue with the SLR Basics class.
