Flash Photo Work Flow

Join LIGHT Photographic Workshops Director and Lead Instructor Hal Schmitt as he simplifies the workflow of Flash Photography. A short discussion will start at the Institute and then we will learn flash with hands on shooting, first at the Institute and then trying it in the field at Sweet Springs Nature Reserve.

Discussion and Practical will include the following:

• Flash theory, basics, and modes
• Differences between in and off camera flash
• Basic fill flash with in camera and off camera flash
• Backlit subject application
• Overall soft light and flash to “pop” application
• Off camera flash
• Multiple flashes with Master and Slave functionality
• Beamer techniques featuring the Project-A-Flash

Of Note: The Institute has seven Canon 580 EX II Speedlite flash units participants may borrow. Course participants should expect to shoot models and local pets.
